As the new year begins, it’s the perfect time to set some resolutions – even for our dogs! While we might focus on hitting the gym or eating healthier, our dogs have their own unique (and often hilarious) goals in mind. 1. I Will Not Bark at the Mailman…

… unless they really deserve it!… and I think them showing up at the house is reason enough by the way…

2. I Will Try to Stay Off the Couch…

… but only when you’re looking! After all, what’s the point of a comfy couch if I can’t sneak onto it now and then?

3. I Will Stop Pretending to Be Starving Right After Dinner…

… my bowl may be empty, but my heart is full… of dreams of a second dinner, of course!

4. I Will Not Steal Socks…

… unless they smell particularly amazing! Or if they’re just lying there, waiting for me…

5. I Will “Fetch” the Ball Instead of Running Away With It…

… even though I love the game of chase! I know they say sharing is caring but I would really prefer to share the couch instead… oh crap, I forgot I wasn’t supposed to be on the couch…

6. I Will try to Tolerate the Neighbor’s Cat…

… but there are no promises! He thinks he’s so smart walking along the top of the fence… thinking I can’t get him… but I can! Oh, this is gonna be a tough one…

7. I Will Not Roll in Mud Right After a Bath…

… okay, maybe I’ll roll in a little less mud. Compromise is good, right?

8. I Will Only Eat Food From My Bowl…

… unless you drop it… then it’s fair game! Let’s see who’s faster…

9. i will Chew on My Toys Instead of the Furniture…

… at least I will try! A few new toys will help persuade me to stop such a fun habit… and the more new toys the better!

10. I Will Greet Guests Politely Without Jumping…

… but only after the first 30 seconds… that’s the best I can offer…

11. I Will Stop Chasing My Tail…

… unless it’s really boring around here… some habits are just too fun to quit entirely.

12. I Will Learn That Squirrels Are Friends, Not Foes (Probably)…

… but I still reserve the right to chase them for fun... they’re even more fun than the neighbor’s cat!

13. I Will Try Not to Eat Grass Like It’s a Gourmet Salad…

… it’s weird, I know, but it’s my thing. Let’s aim for moderation. You stop eating the green stuff too and I’ll try to go cold turkey…

14. I Will Let You Sleep Past 6 AM…

… once in a while… i do love my sunrise walks... the squirrels are most frisky at that time!

15. I Will Actually Listen When You Say ‘Stay’…

… but only if you have treats… LOTS of treats…
